No-nonsense headshot photography for everyone by an experienced photographer. I tend towards natural lighting and normally recommend it where possible but can also provide detailed studio lighting and backdrops on request.
I mostly work with actors but can also provide other types of headshots including professional headshots for business use.
I understand the importance of portraits in an actor’s CV. As such, I take my time to provide a varied selection of natural and/or studio-lit headshots. My aim is for you to be happy with the results, so I don’t set a strict time limit. I then carefully edit them to your requirements.
Frequently asked questions:
How much do you charge for headshots?
My rates for actor headshots are competitive, ranging from a basic 1-hour shoot in natural light, to combined studio/outdoor shoots with your choice of backdrops. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements for a more accurate quote than I could supply here.
How long is a sitting?
As long as it takes for you and me to be happy with the results. I don’t put strict limits in place, as everyone is different and some can relax into it faster than others. Obviously, this also depends on what we agree upon regarding your requirements.
What about the lighting, do you have a studio?
I prefer to work with natural light, but can do portraits in artificial lighting too if that’s what you want. I don’t work from a permanent studio but, depending on the job, I can hire one at short notice or use my portable lighting and backgrounds for use on location.
These photos are all black and white. Do you do colour headshots too?
Yes, of course! I prefer black and white portraits, some of the images above were shot on medium format black and white film. In the past, spotlight didn’t accept colour portraits. But nowadays, I use a professional digital camera and supply the images in both colour and black and white.
